Marj Santaromana is a 38-year-old artist of many trades. Her passion for creating edible art began after discovering cake decorating shows and competitions on television. She went on to perfect her craft at the French Culinary Institute, earning a diploma in the pastry arts. She especially loves creating hyper-realistic cakes — largely based on wrestling, gaming, and generally nostalgic objects — and recording cake-cutting videos for social media.
Most recently, she competed in the second season of “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” on Food Network & HBO Max. Marj also competed in the Disney+ competition show “Foodtastic,” and was featured behind the scenes creating hyper-realistic cakes for the Roku Original “Eye Candy.” Her nerdy, pop culture-centric pastries caught the attention of the SyFy Channel and were spotlighted in their “Fan Creators” mini-docs. Her work has been featured in various news, radio, podcast, and print publications. Previously, as the lead cake decorator at the designer cake studio BCakeNY in Brooklyn, Marj had the opportunity to create cakes for a large celebrity clientele (e.g. Bruno Mars, Jay-Z, DJ Khaled, Taylor Swift, and Iron Maiden, to name a few). She spent 7 years as the lead cake decorator at Sweet Fix in Richmond, Virginia, until the custom cake studio closed its doors in late 2025.
Marj has been a pro-wrestling fan since childhood, and couldn’t be happier to be able to make wrestling the focus of much of her art. She even had the opportunity to combine her two passions by creating the official cake for WWE Monday Night Raw’s 25th Anniversary. She also became known for baking detailed “gingerbread wrestler” cookies, which caught the eye of the legend himself, Mick Foley — he is now her most loyal customer and even bestowed her with the title “Mick Foley’s Personal Baker”!
Believe it or not, she wasn’t always known for pastries. As the artist better known as “MARJ.JPG”, she initially gained a following for her wrestling-based illustrations and enamel pins, which can be found on her Etsy among countless other products. She has since gone on to design logos and merchandise for various brands and professional wrestlers; her clients include Orange Cassidy, Big Van Vader, Rey Fenix, Su Yung, Effy, Chris Hero, Lio Rush, Nick Gage, Chris Dickinson, 44.OH!, Nancy Benoit, and more!
Additionally, as an avid comic-con goer, Marj gained recognition for fabricating detailed wrestling-themed cosplays. And when she’s not just attending them for fun, she is a frequent vendor at various wrestling, gaming, and comic conventions (e.g. WrestleCade, WrestleCon, and Beast In The East). In her spare time, Marj enjoys playing Dance Dance Revolution, collecting toys, and doing karaoke. She was born and bred in Staten Island, NY, but as of 2019 resides in Richmond, VA. She is proudly celebrating 8+ years of sobriety from alcohol.
